Global Wine Management is an investment company that provides strategic capital and equity investment to the wine business through its alternative investment funds.

Our team consists of professionals with extensive experience in both the wine business and the finanical industry, and it is this unique asset that allows us to provide our clients with comprehensive operational expertise as well as strong financial alternatives.

We invest in companies along the value chain of the wine industry that present significant growth potential.

As members of both the wine and financial industries, we know how to navigate the requirements of each and what it takes to be successful.

Augusto Berni

Chief Operating Officer

Augusto is a financial executive with 25 years of experience and with vast knowledge of financial services, institutional portfolio advisory, and is specialized in risk management as well as compliance management. He has also led anti-money laundering efforts for investment and financial services companies. Augusto has served in an advisory management capacity for various funds, launched both off-shore and on-shore, such as Fund of Hedge Funds, Absolute Return Fund of Funds, Private Equity Fund of Funds and Private Equity Funds. He speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish and Catalan.

Xavier Batlle

Chief Investment Officer

Xavier is an entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of experience in the international wine industry. He has held top positions in leading wine groups, serving as International Director of the Codorniu Group in Barcelona and Managing Director of United Wineries in London (UK), while operating in the main markets and producing regions of the world. Owner and founder of Global Wine Partners in Spain and Offbeat Brands in California (USA), Xavier has a proven experience and network as a top operator in the wine industry. His has an eye for business opportunities and the experience to maximize sales and deliver profit increases. He is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Catalan.

Giovanni Patri

Chief Executive Officer

Giovanni is a financial entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in international finance. He has worked for prestigious international firms such as Deloitte, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. He has held positions of high regard in the financial sector, serving as an Executive Committee member of a bank, Director and Conducting Officer for various management companies with nearly 2 billion euros total under management. He is accredited in France by the AMF as a Wealth Manager - Financial Investment Advisor as well as in Luxembourg by the CSSF as a Conducting Officer, and holds multiple Director mandates in several regulated investment funds (SICAV, SIF, SICAR), alternative investment funds, and holding companies (SOPARFI, SPF, SPV). He is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Luxembourgish.
